What Is CrossFit?

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.

The community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together is a key component of why CrossFit is so effective, and it gave birth to a global network of CrossFit affiliates that number over 11,000. Harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition and fun of sport or game yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means.

The CrossFit program is driven by data. Using whiteboards as scoreboards, keeping accurate scores and records, running a clock, and precisely defining the rules and standards for performance, we not only motivate unprecedented output but derive both relative and absolute metrics at every workout. This data has important value well beyond motivation.

Overall, the aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness supported by measurable, observable and repeatable results. The program prepares trainees for any physical contingency—not only for the unknown but for the unknowable, too. Our specialty is not specializing.

While CrossFit challenges the world’s fittest, the program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change the program. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.


When we decided to open CYCLEWOOD’s doors in 2017, we had a vision to be different than the rest. We saw the need to create a cycling studio for the people, not to be the status quo cycling studio that your used to. Our team is built on passion for health, well being and family, and we are dedicated to incorporating those values in each of our classes.

We have specifically designed our cycling studio for all fitness levels and have incorporated industry leading techniques to cross train different muscle groups, get your blood pumping and assist you in maximizing your fitness goals.

Triple Threat Bootcamp

CrossFit Wynwood’s Bootcamp powered by Triple Threat Fitness is a high-intensity core strength and conditioning program that delivers GUARANTEED RESULTS! This one-hour workout will challenge your body in a variety of ways. Our program focuses on all ten components of optimal physical fitness: endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.


Yoga is perfect to balance and enhance the student in a CrossFit program. In 2018 we’re bringing back our yoga program. Experience the natural, successful way to manage stress as well as offer increased flexibility and strength thru YOGA! Develop a mind/body awareness that will help you further discover and improve body alignment as well as experience the many health benefits a yoga practice offers. Topics include basic poses and alignment, breathing and relaxation. Students will learn to hold postures longer which will increase their strength, flexibility and alignment. This class will accommodate new students as well as seasoned students of yoga. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming yoga schedule.

Group on Ramp

-Every new member must complete 3 sessions of our entry level program. These sessions are designed to safely introduce you to the movements we use on a regular basis in our group WODS.

-The Group on Ramp program provides an optimal learning environment within a small group setting. We will cap the class size at 8 to ensure each individual receives adequate instruction and attention. Your group will be coached through 3 sessions meeting based on your schedule and trainer availability (please contact us to schedule dates).

-During these 3 sessions, you can expect to learn proper form and technique on specific gymnastic (body weight) movements, kettlebells, and barbell instruction. A conditioning element is also programmed into every On Ramp session to ensure that your fitness level is progressed safely and effectively.

Group On-Ramp Schedule

Group on Ramp Curriculum

– Each day the class meets, there will be a specific movement your coach will focus on. For example; Monday may be a squatting day, Tuesday a pressing day and Thursday a deadlift day.

– Various skills will be introduced and you will have the opportunity to practice and repeat movements many times throughout your 3 sessions.

– You must complete each of the 3 sessions with your coach before moving on to group class WODS.

-If you miss a day (for example Monday), you will have to reschedule with your trainer.

-Your last session will be a group WOD at CrossFit Wynwood. Your coach will be with your group throughout the entire class.
